Moonlight Counselling (“Moonlight Counselling”, or “we”) provide you with access to www.moonlightcounselling.net (the “Website”) and our Services (as defined below), including any related content, functionality, or information we provide.
BY USING THE WEBSITE OR ANY OF THE SERVICES, YOU ACCEPT AND AGREE TO COMPLY WITH THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND OUR PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OR OUR PRIVACY POLICY, YOU MUST NOT ACCESS OR USE THE WEBSITE OR ANY SERVICES.
We may immediately terminate your access to the Website or Services at any time, for any reason. We may also change or remove any information or material on the Website at our discretion and without notice to you.
Changes to these Terms of Service
We reserve the right to revise and update these Terms of Service from time to time by posting an updated version on the Website. By continuing to use the Website or the Services after these Terms of Service are updated, you accept and agree to these changes. It is your responsibility to periodically check the Website for updates to these Terms of Service.

Services
Moonlight Counselling provides the following paid products and services:
- Online courses relating to general mental health and wellness (the “Courses”);
- Educational materials, such as workbooks and guides, related to general mental health and wellness (“Paid Content”);
- Online and in-person events, seminars, and retreats related to mental health and wellness (“Events”); and
- Online booking and social work services to individual clients (the “Counselling Services”).
(collectively, the “Services”).
The terms and conditions that apply to each Service, in addition to the general terms related to your use of the Website, are set out below. Please read them carefully before registering for any Service.
The Services are hosted on reputable external websites and applications operated by third-parties (the “External Platforms”). If you access the Courses or the Counselling Services, your use of and access to the External Platform will be governed by the terms and conditions and privacy policies of those third-parties. We are not responsible for content, products, services offered by third-parties and have no control over their operations, policies or practices.
Courses
The Courses are hosted on an External Platform called LearnDash. LearnDash’s terms of service are available here.
You must pay for the Course in full before you receive access to the Course Materials. Upon payment, you will be provided with login credentials for LearnDash, where you can access the Course Materials. We do not offer refunds once you have paid for a Course, even if you do not actually access the Course Materials or do not attend a coaching session associated with the Course.
Moonlight Counselling may provide you with videos, worksheets, templates, workbooks, and other materials or content in connection with the Courses. Moonlight Counselling is the exclusive owner of all rights, title and interest in these materials, including the associated copyrights and other intellectual property rights. You may only use these materials for personal, non-commercial use in connection with the Courses. You may not copy them, publish them, or share them with others without Moonlight Counselling’s express written permission.
The Courses provide general educational information about wellness topics such as mindfulness. The Course materials are not specific to you and are not counselling, coaching, or medical advice nor are they a replacement for these services.
The Courses may include group coaching calls and a private coaching consultation with Moonlight Counselling for participants. The coaching provided during the Courses will assist participants to understand and use the educational materials provided. It is not counselling or social work services and should not be relied on to treat specific mental health issues.
Moonlight Counselling does not guarantee that the Courses will be effective or will lead to your desired result.
We reserve the right to modify, discontinue, replace, or restrict access to the Courses or other content at any time. We may reject your purchase or terminate your access to the Courses at any time, for any reason.
BY REGISTERING FOR COURSES, YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE TO RELEASE MOONLIGHT COUNSELLING FROM LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE, LOSS, OR INJURY YOU SUFFER AS A RESULT OF THE COURSES, AND AGREE TO INDEMNIFY MOONLIGHT COUNSELLING AGAINST ANY AND ALL LIABILITIES, CLAIMS, DAMAGE, LOSS, AND EXPENSES THAT RESULT FROM THE COURSES.
Counselling Services
You will access the Counselling Services through an External Platform called OwlPractice. OwlPractice’s terms of use are available here. When you register for Counselling Services, you will be required to set up an account on OwlPractice to book appointments and attend video sessions.
You may reschedule or cancel a counselling session with at least 24 hours notice. If you request to reschedule or cancel on less than 24 hours notice, or do not attend a scheduled session, you will be charged a $25.00 administrative fee.
If you are paying for the Counselling Services through your insurance provider, you must provide Moonlight Counselling with valid insurance information in advance of your first session to facilitate direct billing. If you are paying for the Counselling Services without insurance coverage, you must pay for each session no later than the start of the session.
In the process of the Counselling Services, Moonlight Counselling may provide you with worksheets, resources, and other materials or Content. Moonlight Counselling is the exclusive owner of all rights, title and interest in these materials, including the associated copyrights and other intellectual property rights. You may only use these materials for personal, non-commercial use in connection with the Counselling Services. You may not copy them, publish them, or share them with others without Moonlight Counselling’s express written permission.
Grace Debassige is a Registered Social Worker and holds a Master of Counselling degree in Counselling Psychology and a Master of Social Work degree in Aboriginal Field of Study. The Counselling Services draw on this training to facilitate trauma informed integrative social work services with evidence-based therapy and holistic interventions rooted in a mind, body and soul approach to mental health concerns, trauma, stress and personal growth through guided self-reflection, mindfulness and meditative techniques. The Counselling Services are not legal, financial, or medical advice. Moonlight Counselling does not diagnose psychological or mental illness or disorders, and counselling is not a replacement for medical advice. Moonlight Counselling does not guarantee that the Counselling Services will be effective or will lead to any particular outcome.
BY REGISTERING FOR COUNSELLING SERVICES, YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE TO RELEASE MOONLIGHT COUNSELLING FROM LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE, LOSS, OR INJURY YOU SUFFER AS A RESULT OF THE COUNSELLING SERVICES, AND AGREE TO INDEMNIFY MOONLIGHT COUNSELLING AGAINST ANY AND ALL LIABILITIES, CLAIMS, DAMAGE, LOSS, AND EXPENSES THAT RESULT FROM THE COUNSELLING SERVICES.
Events
Events may be hosted online or in-person, as detailed in the event brochure or webpage.
You must register and pay for an Event in full prior to the Event. Space is limited and availability is not guaranteed until you have paid for the Event and receive confirmation of your registration.
To ensure professionalism and a quiet working environment, children are not permitted at Events unless otherwise stated. You are solely responsible for all travel and accommodation arrangements necessary to attend the Events.
You may cancel your registration for an Event by emailing grace@moonlightcounselling.net or following the instructions in your registration confirmation. If you cancel at least 2 weeks prior to the Event (or such other deadline stated in the event brochure or webpage), Moonlight Counselling will refund your payment, less a $55.00 administrative fee. If you cancel after the stated cancellation deadline, you will not receive a refund, regardless of the circumstances of your cancellation. If the Event is a conference or large-scale gathering, you must cancel no less than 8 weeks prior to the Event to receive a refund (less the $55.00 administrative fee).
Moonlight Counselling may record Events, or portions of Events, using video, audio, or still photography. By registering for an Event, you agree that Moonlight Counselling may record the Event and may use, publish, and reproduce the recordings, including recording featuring your likeness and/or voice, for commercial and non-commercial purposes without compensation to you. Moonlight Counselling is the exclusive owner of all rights, title and interest in these recordings, including the associated copyrights and other intellectual property rights. To the extent that Moonlight Counselling is not deemed to be the owner of all rights in the recordings, you hereby assign all of your right, title and interest in the recordings to Moonlight Counselling. You are not permitted to make any recording of your own, including photographs, videos, or sound recordings, during Events.
By registering for an Event, you agree to follow all reasonable guidelines and directions of Moonlight Counselling and/or venue staff during the Event. If Moonlight Counselling believes, in its sole discretion, that you are being disrespectful, disruptive, inappropriate, abusive, or are otherwise causing venue staff, Moonlight Counselling or other participants distress, Moonlight Counselling may eject you from the Event without a refund and will have no further liability to you.
Moonlight Counselling may cancel an Event at any time prior to the Event by providing written notice to you and providing you with a credit for the value of the Event registration that may be applied to any future Events held by Moonlight Counselling. Moonlight Counselling will not reimburse or be liable to compensate you for any expenses or losses that you incurred in connection with the Event, including lost income, transportation, or accommodation.
Moonlight Counselling reserves the right to assign facilitators to Events at its discretion and may change an Event facilitator without notice to you. You are not entitled to a refund or credit if a facilitator is changed after you have registered for the Event.
BY REGISTERING FOR AN EVENT, YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE TO RELEASE MOONLIGHT COUNSELLING FROM LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE, LOSS, ILLNESS, OR INJURY YOU SUFFER AS A RESULT OF THE EVENT, AND AGREE TO INDEMNIFY MOONLIGHT COUNSELLING AGAINST ANY AND ALL LIABILITIES, CLAIMS, DAMAGE, LOSS, AND EXPENSES THAT RESULT FROM THE EVENT.
Restrictions on Using the Website and Services
Unless Moonlight Counselling has consented in writing, you may only use the Website and the Services for personal, non-commercial use. You may not access or use the Services on behalf of another person, other than a dependent, unless authorized by Moonlight Counselling.
You may use the Website and the Services only in accordance with applicable laws and these Terms of Service. You are prohibited from:
- Copying, reproducing, transmitting, modifying, downloaded, storing, publishing, or displaying any Content or material from the Website or the Courses without Moonlight Counselling’s consent;
- Using any robot, spider, scraper, or other automated means to access the Website;
- Decompile, reverse engineer, or disassemble the Website or the Courses (or any part thereof);
- Using the Website in a way that imposes an unreasonably large load on Moonlight Counselling’s servers or infrastructure;
- Misleading or deceiving Moonlight Counselling, including by submitting false information when you purchase a Course or Counselling Services or communicate with us;
- Using abusive or inappropriate language or conduct;
- Using any Moonlight Counselling Marks, Content, or any other proprietary information without Moonlight Counselling’s consent; or
- Attempting to circumvent or violate the security of the Website.
Financial Terms
You may request an invoice for any Service by emailing grace@moonlightcounselling.net. If you pay for a Service online through an External Platform, you agree to ensure that sufficient funds are available to pay for the Service and any applicable fees. If payment is not received in full, you authorize Moonlight Counselling or its agent to debit any outstanding funds from your account at a later date.
Intellectual Property Rights and Ownership
The Website and all related content, including any information, documentation, photographs, text, graphics, video, workbooks, photographs, recordings, software, code, or other materials provided by Moonlight Counselling, including Paid Content (“Content”) are the property of Moonlight Counselling. Moonlight Counselling retains all right, title and interest in and to and all patent, trademark, copyrights, trade secrets, and other intellectual property rights and proprietary rights related to the Website and any Content.
MOONLIGHT COUNSELLING, the Moonlight Counselling logo and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, images and slogans are trademarks of Moonlight Counselling (the “Moonlight Counselling Marks”). You may not use or reproduce the Moonlight Counselling Marks or any confusingly similar marks without our prior written consent. Other names, logos, product and service names, designs, images and slogans mentioned, or which appear on this Website are the trademarks of their respective owners, and may not be used without the prior consent of such owners.
Disclaimer
You understand and agree that your use of the Website, Content, and Services is at your own risk. Although we strive to update our Website on a regular basis, Moonlight Counselling makes no representations, warranties or guarantees, express or implied, that the Website, Content, or Services are secure, error-free, uninterrupted, accurate, reliable, complete, or up-to-date.
Limitation on Liability
YOU AGREE TO RELEASE FROM LIABILITY AND WAIVE ALL POTENTIAL CLAIMS AGAINST MOONLIGHT COUNSELLING ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, AND ALL INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE WEBSITE OR THE SERVICES, REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE OF ACTION OR WHETHER SUCH LOSS WAS FORESEEABLE.

Geographic Restrictions

Governing Law and Jurisdiction
